Ng’eno highlighted Kenya’s progress, noting that nearly 90% of its electricity generation comes from renewable sources. He stressed the importance of building Africa’s green jobs ecosystem and scaling investment-ready solutions to create opportunities for the continent’s youthful population.

National Environment Management Authority Director-General Mamo B. Mamo called for greater environmental responsibility and increased use of green financing instruments like green bonds and sustainability-linked loans. He emphasized that sustainable development requires responsible resource use, ecosystem protection, and investments that reduce carbon emissions.

Mamo also urged citizens to adopt everyday actions such as switching off unnecessary lights, carpooling, and proper waste disposal. He noted that despite a robust legal framework for environmental protection, greater public participation is essential to complement government efforts.
